The Soil Has Two Sides — Come Play in Our Garden
Every handful of living soil has a light side and a dark side — and it needs both.
We built something a little different to show you why, and yes, it's exactly as fun as it sounds: an interactive garden where you drag the balance between light and dark and watch what really happens. Slide it all the way to the light and the flower starves in full sunshine, because the recyclers are gone and nothing feeds the roots. Slide it all the way to the dark and she wilts, falls, and joins the compost — and then even the decay crew goes hungry, because one composted flower is not a harvest. Bring the balance back, and both crews go back on shift.
Along the way you'll meet the whole cast of our real farm, thirty-eight residents deep. The mycorrhizal fungi running their underground trading post. The nitrogen-fixing bacteria harvesting fertility out of thin air. Our chickens (led by one Princess Layer and her scratch troopers), the geese whose palm-sized eggs you know from the stand, the swallows catching hundreds of insects a day on the wing, the owl on night rodent patrol, the fireflies this Certified Firefly Habitat glows with, and Lily and Daisy, our big fuzzy co-pilots. Every one of them is clickable, every card tells you the real science, and every critter makes its own little sound. Kids love it. So do we.
This playground is also the most honest explanation we can give for why we farm chemical-free. A spray that wipes out the "bad guys" takes the good guys with it — the hunters, the traders, the recyclers — and the whole cycle tips out of balance. We'd rather let the food web do what it has done forever.
